I was named after both grandmothers, but I never met the original Margaret.
I was always called Meg growing up, but I decreed that I would be Maggie ever after when I graduated college, largely because it infuriated me when people called me Megan.
I moved to the San Francisco area in 2000 with my best friend from high school and I’ve been here ever since. I currently live in Oakland and work in downtown SF as a content producer for a cool techie company.
I grudgingly go to work, force myself to work out and eat nicely, or fight with myself when I don’t, and spend a lot of time faffing around.
I’m in constant pursuit of weight loss, a faster running pace, a new recipe, a new restaurant, a sale at Anthropologie and enough time to read more books and watch more movies.
I live with a very nice British fellow who I like to call The David.

Dear Maggie,
I very happily discovered your blog while poking around the Alt Summit site. I like your writing. I’ll be back.
