if you were loving Downton Abbey and need a little more WWI era British aristoacracy in your life
then try The House at Riverton by Kate Morton.
I know, I know. Television ≠ books. But still. You gotta take it where you can get it.

I am so going to make you all jealous now but being in the UK I have seen all of season 3 and am now eagerly awaiting season 4…sorry! BUT I have to say…If you can find it (not sure where from) there was a one-off Christmas 2011 episode that fits neatly in between s2 & s3. You might want to see if you can find it 🙂 Also if you guys like this kind of English period drama you might want to look out for Upstairs,Downstairs. It is the same kind of thing as Downton Abbey, set roughly about the time. S2 started last weekend here and S1 is out on DVD so you should be able to ‘find’ it somewhere! Enjoy!
I AM jealous! Maybe the next time I’m over there visiting the in-laws, I will just hole up and watch all of season 3 in one go and refuse to socialize with anyone. It would be very American of me.
Do you have it on Kindle? Can you lend it?
I read it as a real book and I would totally send it to you, except I can’t find it! Apparently, my system of organizing books by spine color is not totally practical.
